About the man behind Engage Cosplay

Hi everyone, I’m Steve – the founder, builder and full‑time tinkerer behind Engage Cosplay.
About four years ago I started building my own Mandalorian costume. Many late nights, test fits and tweaks, my kit is now approved with the 501st – though there’s always something new to upgrade.
Cosplay quickly became a family thing. My daughter suits up as Rey from Star Wars, and my wife brings the Armorer from The Mandalorian to life. I’ve helped design and build their outfits too, so I know what it takes to create costumes that look great, perform well, and survive real trooping.
Along the way I wanted more from our armor: a voice and immersive electronics. When I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, I started building it myself.
That’s how Engage Cosplay was born.
Today I design and build Sound Rigs, Mandoputers, Jetpack Electronics and more – all created by a cosplayer (and cosplay dad!), tested in real kits, and made to bring your character and your costume to life.

My main focus is 100% customer satisfaction. Getting great feedback on my products is what its all about.

What I Make

At Engage Cosplay, I focus on bringing armor and props to life with practical, con‑ready electronics:

  • Sound Rigs – Clear, loud audio systems designed for helmets and armor, so your character can actually be heard on the convention floor.
  • Mandoputers – “In‑universe” control boards and electronics that add to your Mando kit for a more immersive, screen‑inspired feel.
  • Jetpack Electronics – Lighting and effects packages for jetpacks to make them look active and alive, whether on display or trooping.
  • And more – I’m always experimenting with new ideas and upgrades, all tested in real kits by me and my family.

Everything I build is designed by a cosplayer, for cosplayers – with usability, durability and fun at the core.
